A 10 a.m. ribbon cutting is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, to commemorate the opening of a 2.8 mile strech of the Champlain Canal Trail in Halfmoon.
Town Supervisor Mindy Wormuth will officiate the ceremony, wher members from the New York State Canal Corporation will be in attendance.
Following the ribbon cutting, a tour will be conducted of the trail with stops at Old Lock no. 7, the stone culvert over McDonald Creek and the water weir.
The ribbon cutting and tour will begin where the trail crosses Brookwood Road, adjacent to the Water Treatment Plant.`
