Town of Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs are pleased to announce the summer of 2008 is kicking off with registration for the Learn to Swim Program.
Swim lessons are available for children starting at age 3 through those entering 8th grade on the fall. The Town is offering two sessions which run Monday though Friday for three weeks per session. Please see below for our full schedule. The fee is $45 per child per session and all swim programs are open to residents and nonresidents of Clifton Park.
Registration will be held on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the pool where the student will be taking lessons: Barney Road Pool in Clifton Knolls or Country Knolls Pool on Burning Bush Blvd. Late registration at the pools will be June 4, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Children will be tested on the first day of class and placed according to their ability.

8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Life guarding (first session and available at County Knolls Pool only – $95)
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. 3rd and 4th Grades
5th and 6th Grades
7th and 8th Grades
10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 1st and 2nd Grades
3rd and 4th Grades
11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Preschool Group (4-5 year olds) *
Parent-Tot Program (3-5 year olds) **
1st and 2nd Grades
* Children must be able to put their face in the water and float. This group will not use bubbles.
** Parent participation is required. An excellent introduction to swimming. Parent and child focus on stimulating the enjoyment of water.
All Town of Clifton Park Learn to Swim staff are trained as American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors, lifeguard certified and many of them have a competitive swimming background.
