The Stevens Elementary PTA will be holding Stevens Goes Green day on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Many area businesses with green idea and ecological groups will be on hand to help educate patrons on the benefits of going green, including The Cornell Cooperative Extension and The Wild Center at Tupper Lake.
Most events will be offered for free, but there will also be 9-hole miniature golf course organized by the fifth grade class to help raise funds for their graduation party and a barbecue.
There will be no parking at Stevens, but shuttles will be running all day from the high school parking lot to the event.
The PTA is also looking for donations of perennials, placed and labeled in plastic bags or old pots. They should be delivered on Friday afternoon in from of Stevens from 3:30 to 6 p.m., or you can bring them along Saturday.
