A ribbon cutting was held last Thursday, Feb. 28, at the new office of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, at Main Square Shoppes, 318 Delaware Ave., Delmar.
The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce started out in the late 1950s with offices in the historic Adams Hotel at 393 Delaware Ave., built in 1838. From 1950 to 1980, the building also housed Bethlehem Town Hall. It is now the headquarters of NYSARC.
The chamber settled in Main Square about 15 years ago, moving to a first floor spot a few weeks ago.
Main Square is a very popular location for both retail and office space, and the owners take great pride in the property, said Marty DeLaney, Chamber president.
`We waited a long time for first-floor space to open up. Now we are in a great location ` very visible and accessible to anyone looking for information about Bethlehem. We have maps, brochures, phone books, businesses cards and a wealth of material about the town,` Delaney said. `We’re wireless, and there is parking right in front of our door. For our members, we have a small private conference room, and a helpful knowledgeable staff who handle all kinds of inquiries.“
