Bob Wilcox, counsel for the Clifton Park Water Authority resigned Thursday, Jan. 17, under pressure from the water authority to choose between a position with the Clifton Park Republican Committee and the water authority, according to a CPWA official.
We at the board thought it was a major conflict of interest, said Helmut Gerstenberger, chairman of the CPWA. `We asked him to make a decision.`
Wilcox served as the water authority’s counsel for more than 10 years.
Although his specific salary was not available, Gerstenberger said it was `significant,` and that the water authority board would be evaluating the costs and need of future counsel.
Wilcox did not return calls for comment.
