Steiner said the Golub Corporation is a good corporate citizen, taking care of its customer and also realizing the value of the community.
The Golub Foundation is involved in various charities throughout the Capital District and the company has made numerous contributions to organizations within Schenectady, including Proctor’s and Bellevue Woman’s Hospital.
Their investments in the community its not just in dollars, Steiner said. `Their people are well invested in numerous community organizations across the board. I can’t really think of an area where they aren’t invested.`
Steiner said it is also important to note that the corporation was founded in Schenectady and the company’s corporate headquarters are still within the county in Rotterdam.
`You can’t minimize the importance of having the corporate headquarters in your community,` Steiner said. `You can see that by the dedication, commitment and investment that the Golub family makes into all portions of the Capital Region, but of course this is home and their major focus is Schenectady.`
Family member Mona Golub who serves as the corporation’s vice-president said it is a thrill to be a part of the business and a part of the fourth generation of family members working for the business.
`We are moving forward and Price Chopper is a healthy growing company and still to this day American-owned and family-managed,` Golub said. `We have a passion for this business and I think it shows in what we do. We are very grateful to our customers’ loyalty throughout these years and we will continue to move forward.`
