A 19-year-old Glenmont teen died early Monday morning, Aug. 27, after the car he was driving struck a utility pole on Creble Road in Selkirk.
Alexander S. Kasparian of Glenmont, was pronounced dead due to massive trauma after his 1994 Honda left the roadway while traveling east around 1:44 a.m. and struck a utility pole. Bethlehem police, along with state police and the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, assisted at the scene, along with Bethlehem Ambulance Service and Albany County Paramedics.
Police said they believe excessive speed is the cause of the crash after a preliminary investigation by the police department’s Traffic Safety Unit and Detective Division. The Honda that Kasparian was driving sustained severe damage.
The accident occurred about a quarter mile west of Elm Avenue. The investigation into the fatal crash continues.
