The Altamont Fair is proud to announce the entertainment schedule that offers something for everyone.
The Jonas Brothers will make their way to the Altamont Fair Grandstand stage, Friday, Aug. 17. On a national tour to promote their new CD that will be released Aug. 7, the Jonas Brothers are a rock/pop band that appeals to not only young adults, but tweens as well. Come see one of the biggest up and coming bands play their hits `Mandy` and `Hold On.`
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, the Altamont Fair presents `The Outlaws.` The southern rock group from Florida is on a national tour. Fans will remember their hits `Hurry Sundown,` `Green Grass and High Times,` `There Goes Another Love Song` and `Ghost Riders in the Sky.` The Outlaws are working on an album that will be released later this year. Appearing with the Outlaws is `Overture.`
On Saturday night, Aug. 18, the Altamont Fair is featuring huge local favorite Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra. The Latin Orchestra is renowned for performing popular Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Cha-cha, Bomba, Plena and Latin Jazz. They have been the recipients of numerous awards including the Albany ` Schenectady League of Arts Award, The Governor s Excellence in Arts Award, The NAACP Albany Chapter Award, Metroland Magazine s `Best Of Award` for seven consecutive years, New York State Music Achievement Award and the New England Cultural Arts Preservation Award.
On Thursday, Aug. 16, and Sunday, Aug. 19, the fair will feature demo derbies. The Sunday night event is a Firemen’s Demo Derby.
The Altamont Fair 2007 dates are Tuesday through Sunday, Aug. 14 to 19.
Additional entertainment scheduled for the Reid Northrup Stage in the Grove includes: Hair of the Dog, TS Ensemble, The Moxy, The Refrigerators, Electric City Chorus, Good for the Soul, Nite Train and more. All of this with Zoppe Circus, rides, exhibits, agricultural displays, animals and museums.
