There is no reason to investigate Saratoga Springs Public Works Commissioner Thomas McTygue’s residency, a state Board of Elections statement says.
The board reviewed three formal opinions by the Saratoga County Board of Elections, which state that McTygue satisfies residency within Saratoga Springs as defined by New York State Election Law, the determination reads. `Therefore, the matter is closed.`
Saratoga Springs resident and longtime McTygue critic David Bronner filed a complaint last year challenging Public Works Commissioner Thomas McTygue’s place of residence.
Bronner claims McTygue should not be registered to vote in the city because he lives on a horse farm in the neighboring town of Saratoga. McTygue says his main residence is within city limits at 175 Clinton St.
