A two-car, head-on collision Thursday afternoon, July 26, on state Route 9W in Glenmont sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.
Bethlehem police report that 59-year-old Charles A. Bressette of Albany was driving south on Route 9W near Plank Road shortly after noon when his 1994 Chevrolet crossed over into the northbound lane of 9W striking a second car driven by 45-year-old William A. Gillette of Central Bridge. Gillette was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango when Bressette’s vehicle struck the Dodge head on. Both operators were the sole occupants in the vehicles and each were transported to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. A portion of Route 9W was closed for several hours following the crash. No tickets have been issued at this time, but the cause of the accident is under investigation.
Both Bethlehem police and state police responded to the scene undergoing an accident reconstruction.
