The Saratoga Springs Board of Education will hold a budget workshop Tuesday, March 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. to begin review of the 2007-2008 school district budget.
The workshop, which is open to the public, will be held in the Meade (teaching) Auditorium at the Saratoga Springs High School.
The workshop will include an overview of the preliminary budget, presentation of new proposals, and information about the proposed EXCEL capital project.
The budget will also be discussed at the following public meetings:
Tuesday, March 13, 7:30 p.m. at the Caroline Street Elementary School: Budget workshop during a regular meeting of the school board. Topics include facilities and transportation.
Tuesday, March 20, 7 to 9 p.m. high school teaching auditorium: Budget workshop concerning elementary, middle and high school divisions, including program goals, staffing, enrollment/class size, and building allocations.
Tuesday, March 27, 7 to 9 p.m. high school teaching auditorium: Budget workshop concerning technology, special education/pupil services, and staff development, academic intervention services and assessments.
Tuesday, April 3, 7 to 9 p.m. high school teaching auditorium. Agenda items for this budget workshop include decisions regarding new proposals, as well as budget updates and finalization.
Tuesday, April 10, 7:30 p.m. Greenfield Elementary School: Regular school board meeting, where the proposed budget will undergo a final review before board members vote concerning its adoption.
Tuesday, May 8, 7 p.m. high school teaching auditorium: Public disclosure hearing on the proposed budget.
School district residents will vote on the budget and elect three members to the school board on Tuesday, May 15.
Polls will be open at the six elementary schools from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
