A popular, nationally recognized Pop Warner and wrestling coach for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District lost his home and all his family’s belongings when a fire raced through his house on Paradowski Road in the Town of Glenville Wednesday morning.
Kevin Warren, who is married and has four children, heard about the blaze, which appears not to be suspicious in nature, from a neighbor.
Five local companies converged on the scene around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, dousing the flames for more than an hour before it was contained.
Although the Warren’s dog was at the house when flames broke out, it was rescued safely by neighbors.
By Thursday, family, friends and members of the school district rallied to provide the Warrens with shelter, clothing, and sports equipment for the kids to continue their practices.
Last week, Warren was given a Double-Goal Coach award by the Positive Coaching Alliance for his mentoring and positive influence on the kids he coaches.
Warren has coached the district’s Pop Warner team and Junior Spartan wrestling.
