Memory of Murder.
It sounds more like a late night movie than a real life drama.
It is, however, the actual title of the CBS 48 Hours Mystery one-hour pro-gram featuring the murder of Peter Porco and the brutal attack on Joan Porco.
The Porcos’ son Christopher was found guilty of the crime on Aug. 11.
The CBS show will air tonight on CBS at 10 p.m. with CBS news corres-pondent Peter Van Zant reporting. Locally, it will be seen on WRGB TV Channel 6.
The show will recreate the scene of the crime the night of Nov. 14 to 15, 2004 when Christopher Porco drove from the University of Rochester campus down the Thruway to Delmar, entering his family’s 36 Brockley Drive home in the middle of the night, taking an ax from the garage and attacking his parents while they were asleep in bed.

The show will feature interviews with both defense and prosecuting attorneys along with a jailhouse interview of Christopher Porco inside the Albany County jail.
Bethlehem Police and the Albany County District Attorney’s office led the investigation into the murder of Peter Porco and attack on Joan Porco. That investigation lasted more than a year before an indictment was handed up against the Porcos’ younger son, Christopher.
The case was sent to trial in June with Judge Jeffrey Berry presiding over an Orange County Supreme Court jury in Goshen. Berry moved the trial from Albany to Goshen after deciding intense media attention in the Capital District would make it difficult for Christopher Porco to receive a fair trial.
After several hundred pieces of evidence and more than 70 witnesses covering an eight-week period, the jury handed down a guilty verdict on both counts of second-degree murder and attempted murder.
Christopher Porco faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life. Sentencing had been scheduled for last week, but has since been moved to Dec. 12 to accommodate the defense team of Terence Kindlon and Laurie Shanks, who are working on Porco’s appeal.
