Unity House Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Community Block Party

Unity House will host a community block party to raise awareness of domestic violence in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Unity House staff will provide information and resources about domestic violence at the event. The block party will also feature educational opportunities presented at the podium, the street lined with resource tables targeted for younger attendees, food vendors, games, and pumpkin/stone painting as part of Unity House’s Domestic Violence Awareness project #1Thing – where participants paint the #1Thing that symbolizes what they can do to help eradicate domestic violence. Unity House will also honor two volunteers, Ashley Hart and Joy Meher, as well as its community partner SNUG.
This event is free and open to the community. COVID-19 safety regulations will be enforced. To ensure the event remains socially distanced, community members are encouraged to drop in for shorter periods of time over the course of the six hours to keep large crowds from forming.

(Parking in the City of Troy is free on weekends and in the evening. A parking garage is less than a block away on 5th Ave. and Broadway at 1713 5th Ave.)
