Saratoga Co. Hair Salon Celebrates Grand Opening With Toys For Tots

 

As the holiday season is about to kick off it is more important than ever to give back to those in need. That’s why a new local hair salon,  Twisted Scissors in Saratoga County, has made it their mission to help local children by using their Grand Opening on December 13th, 2022 to host a Toys For Tots toy drive at their new location.

 

The Event And How To Donate

The Grand Opening Celebration will be at Twisted Scissors Salon between 5 P.M. and 8 P.M. on December 13, 2022. A Toys For Tots donation bin will be available at the event and through December. There will be food and drinks as well as tours of the salon. The salon staff will also be happy to answer any hair-related questions. Attendees are encouraged but not required to bring a Toy. The Salon is 100% Women-Owned and Operated

20-year veteran stylist Jessica Shults opened the doors this summer with a “soft-opening” while the newly purchased property at 813 NY-50 in Ballston was still finishing renovations. This allowed her to generate the cash flow necessary to fund the project while keeping her loyal clients looking their best.

 

This is Jessica’s first brick-and-mortar business. Until now she was a self-employed booth renter in Clifton Park, NY. As her loyal clients helped her grow through referrals she knew it was time to open her new salon.

 

Her Clients, Covid, and Local Businesses Made This Possible

“This wouldn’t be possible without my amazing clients sticking with me, especially through Covid.” said Twisted Scissors Salon founder Jessica Shults. “A lot of stylists in the area were crushed after the Covid re-opening in New York; for some reason, my business only grew.”

 

She also cites the local business community for their expertise and generosity in making Twisted Scissors Salon a reality. “Everyone from my general contractor to the local SBA lenders was incredible throughout this process. Their expertise made everything come together.”
