The Capital District Humanist Society Presents: Conspiracy Theories & the People Who Believe Them

June 11 @ 1:00 pm

Why do so many Americans believe conspiracy theories? Are these beliefs more prevalent now? What could be done about conspiracy theories? For over 10 years, Professor Joseph Uscinski, one of the foremost experts on conspiracy theories and people who believe them, has polled Americans about their beliefs in conspiracy theories and other dubious ideas, to uncover why people believe in conspiracy theories, when, and to what effect.

Joseph Uscinski, Ph.D., is a professor of Political Science at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He is the author of Conspiracy Theories: A Primer, and co-author of American Conspiracy Theories.

This program will take place online, via Zoom, on Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at 1 PM ET. Current paid CDHS members will automatically receive an invite to the meeting via email.
