Humanism In Star Trek

Gene Roddenberry, creator and executive producer of the television series Star Trek, believed that: human beings can solve problems through reason and co-operation; that there is no need to turn to superstition or religion for help; that human understanding and intelligence will help us to develop and progress.
Susan Sackett was personal executive assistant to Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, from 1974 until Roddenberry’ecs death in 1991. She has written stories and a teleplay for Star Trek: The Next Generation, and  several books  about her Star Trek experiences. Susan was on the American Humanist Association Board of Directors from 2006 to 2018, and was on the Board of Humanists International from 2011 to 2017.
This program begins at 1:00 PM, both in-person and via Zoom. The in-person event will be held at Pinnacle Living, 45 Forts Ferry Road, Latham, NY. It is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be available starting at 12:30 PM. Please bring your own beverage.
