Workshops, classes & services 

Exercise Class with Sally
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.
Join Sally Annechino as she conducts a low aerobic exercise class at Westview Senior Center on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. This class will encourage you to stay physically active and improve your stamina, strength and balance. Sally has directed exercise programs at McAuley Assisted Living for over seven years. She is certified in personal fitness training and is currently training for additional certifications to train groups in aerobic exercise. For more information, call 482-2120.

Crochet Club
Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m.
Henrietta Bohanon and Cheryl Johnson, Westview volunteers, are the facilitators of the class. Donations of yarn in any color are always appreciated. Call 482-2120, and thank you in advance for your contributions.

Classical concert
Wednesday, June 8 5:45 p.m.
Asya Markova, classical pianist, will present a piano recital featuring the works of three classical composers: Frederic Chopin, Edvard  Grieg and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Markova graduated with honors from Kharkov Music College and Conservatory. She was the head of the piano department in one of the best music schools in Kharkov, Ukraine, and also served as an accompanist to many chamber orchestras. In 2015, Markova performed a concert dedicated to Frederick Chopin at Westview Senior Center. She and her husband, Valentin, both reside at the Westview Homes. The concert will follow a community dinner at Westview at 5 p.m. Call 482-2120 by June 8, 11 a.m., to make your dinner reservations.

Ice Cream Social
Wednesday, June 22, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Kenneth P. Valentine, who is licensed with United Healthcare Medicare Solutions, will do a Medicare educational presentation, which will include a description of EPIC and low income subsidies, HMO and PPO plans, Medicare plan comparisons and an open forum for general questions. Join us for ice cream as we discuss these important topics.

Laughter Yoga
Wednesday, June 29, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Larry Steffler, BSW, CLYL, invites you to laugh your way to less stress and more joy. No previous yoga experience is needed. All fitness and mobility levels are welcome. Laughter yoga is just deep breathing, the willingness to let go, and reconnecting with our childlike nature and laughing.

Walmart in Glenmont shopping trip: Tuesday, June 7. The Senior Service bus will leave Westview Senior Center at 12:30 p.m. and will return at 2:15 p.m. Call 482-2120 to reserve your bus seat.

Westview Senior Center hosts Wednesday Night Dinners every week. The following is the schedule for June:

Wednesday, June 1: dinner, 5 to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, June 8: Happy Hour, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.; dinner, 5 p.m.; classical concert by Asya Markova,  5:45 to 6:45 p.m.

Wednesday, June 15: dinner, 5 to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, June 22: Happy Hour, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.; dinner, 5 p.m.; bingo, 5:30  to 7 p.m., 10 cents per card and $1 for the jackpot.

Wednesday, June 29: dinner, 5 to 6 p.m.

To make your dinner reservation, call 482-2120 by the date of each dinner by 11 a.m. Suggested contribution is $4.35.
