COLUMBIA COUNTY — The National Bank of Coxsackie recently presented a $10,000 donation to The Olana Partnership to support its mission of preserving and interpreting Olana State Historic Site.
The funds were secured through the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Small Business Recovery Grant Program, for which NBC applied as a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
TOP, a nonprofit organization and partner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, engages more than 200,000 visitors annually through its educational and cultural programming. Visitors to Olana experience guided tours of the historic house and its surrounding landscape, along with exhibitions and public programs that explore themes of art, architecture, and the environment.
Sean Sawyer, Ph.D., Washburn and Susan Oberwager President of The Olana Partnership, expressed gratitude for the donation. “The Olana Partnership greatly appreciates this generous support from the National Bank of Coxsackie that recognizes Olana’s importance as a cultural and educational resource for our region,” Sawyer said.
NBC Chief Executive Officer John Balli highlighted the impact of TOP’s work in the community.
“The cultural and educational work that The Olana Partnership does plays an important role in our local communities,” Balli said. “We are glad to be able to support them and their continued efforts.”
