BETHLEHEM — Ken Myer has been hired as market manager for the Delmar Farmers Market, which begins its 2016 season Saturday, May 7, at Bethlehem Central Middle School on Kenwood Avenue.
Myer is a 35-year veteran of the food industry, having most recently served as the corporate chef for Equinox in Albany. He is the president and a glass designer at Alkemy Stained Glass in Delmar. In prior years, he worked in a variety of settings including a 4-star hotel, several resorts and owning his own restaurant in Pittsburgh.
“I am looking forward to working to sustain what the market has done since the beginning and to build on that success. I’m honored to be working with a team so dedicated to providing a great atmosphere for people to meet their friends and neighbors and get to know our vendors,” said Myer. “I am looking forward to opening day as we work together to make the market a great place for the community to come together every Saturday.”
The Delmar Farmers Market features more than 50 local vendors providing a variety of produce, prepared foods and crafts. It is also offering music every week, with special performances by MotherJudge, Grainbelt, Brian Patneaude and more.
