LATHAM — Shaker defeated Colonie in the annual Colonie Cup football game for the seventh consecutive year. And for the sixth year in a row, it wasn’t even close.
The Blue Bison (3-0) stampeded their way to a 30-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 44-0 victory over the Garnet Raiders (1-2) at Shaker High School.
Shaker quarterback Wahid Nabi threw two touchdown passes — one to Maki Medici, and the other to Mike Stiso — to lead the offense. Kwasi Addo, Gerard Rhatigan, Mikael Brown and Frank Short all added touchdown runs.
Shaker’s defense added to its shutout streak in the process. The Blue Bison have not allowed an opposing team to score in the last six quarters.
