The discussion was about Valentine’s Day, of course. In a local survey of listeners, two thirds preferred to keep Valentine’s as a holiday, as opposed to getting rid of it. That surprised me.
One woman who called in to the station had the most vocal views on the subject. Her main peeve was how disgusting if was for people who had only been dating for two weeks to receive huge bouquet of roses and boxes of chocolates at work.
Whereas she, who had been married for ten years, would be lucky to even get a cheap card from a low-cost retailer from her husband...
