In this week's paper you will read about, in my mind, one of the most interesting ways to fundraise: killing a person.
No, not really.
A Colonie-based mom-and-pop business called O'Connors Murder by Design brings murder mysteries to whichever charitable organizations are willing to host them, complete with a murderer, a victim, clues, characters, and eventually, the answer to who did it.
If you check out their Web site, see below, you can even choose from their "Murder Menu" what kind of murder you would like them to put on. Options include: gangster, Hollywood, western, political, historical and many more.
What is unique about this company (aside from the original murder mystery they write each time they put on one of these shows) is that for all of the entertainment they provide your dinner party, they do not charge you to host it.
According to co-owner, Steven O'Connor, he and his wife, Diane, have been blessed and are happy to be able to help these organizations.
If you would like to learn more about O'Connors Murder by Design, I greatly encourage you to check out my story in the Wednesday, March 11 print edition of the Colonie Spolight.
