In tomorrow's edition of the Colonie Spotlight, you may read a story that looks like this:
"Officials from the Capital District Transportation Authority met with
several members of staffing agencies for nurses last Wednesday, July 16, to
discuss ways to better provide transportation to nurses who are currently
arriving late to their shifts due to the late arrival times of buses.
Luis Acosta, a representative of CDTA encouraged those in attendance to come
forward with their concerns about bus routes and ways CDTA can work better
for the communities in which people need them. One of the issues raised was
that with the cost of gas rising, nurses are having a hard time getting to
work without the buses, and at the same time, bus times and routes do not
comply with the nurseıs needs.
³Itıs becoming increasingly annoying because these people really wanted to
go to work,² said Beth Slezak, director of operations for Nurse Connection
Staffing, Inc.
Acosta promised to follow up on the issues brought up at the meeting."
I am interested in following up on this story, and am asking YOU, the public for help. If you have a particular concern with CDTA that matches the description of the nurses, call me at 439-4949 ext.29 or e-mail cohna@spotlightnews.com.
